This is from the book; Earth Medicine by Jamie Sams. I believe at this time it speaks to all of us who have every judged, condemned or labeled in our twisted desire to feel superior... May we all find the blessing of dying a little each day, to be reborn into the glorious beings that we truly are.
Death Wish
The bitter young woman could take the jealousy that ate her spirit no more. She had hurt the ones she loved. She carried a burden of guilt and shame that weighted every step. She had spit her hatred into the world, and now, friendless and alone, she cried out into the Great Mystery.
"Great and eternal mystery, I ask that I may die to the ways of hate and be reborn in love. I ask that this hateful burden be lifted and that my eyes be healed. I have chosen to see wickedness in every person around me. I have looked without seeing, taken without giving, blamed without reason, and shamed others without regret. The poison within me has hardened my heart and numbed my senses. I can not do it alone, please help me!"
The creator sent the earth mother to help the woman who sobbed, crying out in her pain. The earth mother whispered to her erring daughter, and through the tears the woman heard.
"Daughter, This is not the end; it is the beginning. Your heart is on the mend because you have recognized the folly of your ways. You are free now to die a little each day, giving away your pain and sorrow. You are also free to be reborn into the love that has always been available. Your burden has been heavy, but now you are home. Forgiving yourself, and learning to give caring back to those you have hurt, is the way to heal. Come cradle in my arms, and I will give you rest."
