Plato's "The Allegory of the Cave": A Summary

The words of one in congress that thinks outside the beltway... New York Rep. Jerry Nadler
But it seems a few of our elected officials actually think outside the beltway and about us average Americans. Here is one.
I think it is time to march on Washington... It worked in Egypt, It worked in Tunisia... It can work here. Time to rally and send the bullshit corporate puppets home. Hell, even my children can run this nation better.
The response from the honorable representative from New York, Jerry Nadler
“Defaulting on our debts is not an option. That’s why I voted for a clean debt ceiling increase, free from the unnecessary clutter of budgetary or other non-related matters. And that’s why I voted for Senator Reid’s plan this past Saturday, though parts of that plan were excessive and imbalanced. I am also the lead sponsor on a resolution to support the president’s use of Article 2, Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution to raise the debt ceiling – solely as a last resort. But this so-called compromise – “the Budget Control Act” – is just the latest blackmail request from extortionist Republicans.
“This legislation lays out an unbalanced, callous plan that will strangle the middle class and working poor, to say nothing of the elderly and kids. These blackmailers are telling the American people, ‘either you will accept deep cuts to vital programs that support seniors, students, children, women, and the poor, or we will force this nation to default on its debts’ – an unprecedented and reckless move that would lead to skyrocketing interest rates on mortgages, credit cards, student loans, and the like. So, either we stifle our economy and stymie job growth, or we kill the middle class and stymie job growth.
“Shockingly, while Republicans are holding us all hostage, telling us our country is broke and we have to cut programs that are lifelines to millions of Americans, they are letting the wealthiest among us – the corporations, millionaires, billionaires, and oil companies – off scot-free, without doing their fair share.
“This proposal is exactly the wrong thing at exactly the wrong time. With our economy still struggling and gasping for air, with more and more Americans looking for jobs, we should be promoting job growth and those federal and state programs that put people to work. But, instead of doing the things Americans do best – that is, building things and creating opportunity – Tea Partiers want to send this country over the cliff. We must say NO.”
Before I speak... I will ask myself...
Socrates,(469 - 399 BC), was widely lauded for his wisdom. One day the great philosopher came upon an acquaintance, who ran up to him excitedly and said, "Socrates, do you know what I just heard about one of your students...?"
"Wait a moment," Socrates replied. "Before you tell me, I'd like you to pass a little test. It's called the Test of Three."
"Test of Three?"
"That's correct," Socrates continued. "Before you talk to me about my student let's take a moment to test what you're going to say. The first test is Truth. Are absolutely sure that what you are about to tell me is true?"
"No," the man replied, "actually I just heard about it."
"All right," said Socrates. "So you don't really know if it's true or not. Now let's try the second test, the test of Goodness. Is what you are about to tell me about my student something good?"
"No, on the contrary..."
"So," Socrates continued, "you want to tell me something bad about him even though you're not certain it's true?"
The man shrugged, a little embarrassed.
Socrates continued, "You may still pass though because there is a third test - the filter of Usefulness. Is what you want to tell me about my student going to be useful to me?"
"No, not really..."
"Well," concluded Socrates, "if what you want to tell me is neither True nor Good nor even Useful, why tell it to me at all?"

The Definition of Love
You can stop taking quizzes in Cosmo. Here’s what love really is.
Love is still wanting to hold someone after you climax. After the initial euphoria from the orgasm wears off, you’re replaced with a sense of calm rather than a panic. You don’t want to search for your clothes, scramble to find your keys and figure out the best way to tell them, “See ya later forever!” You’re fine with chilling out in bed with the person and maybe ordering pad thai later.
Love is unattractive. It can expose our worst traits: Jealousy, irrational fears, heated anger; the gang’s all here! While it can bring out compassion and tenderness, it can also make you behave like the ugliest version of yourself. That can be okay for a little while, but love with real longevity should be like a xanax rather than an adderall.
Love is not afraid to be schmaltzy. There’s a reason why the most popular love songs are so lyrically simple. You can drown it in metaphors all you want but love usually boils down to, “You make me so happy. I want to hold your hand. I just want u 2 be mine 4ever!” You can be a 50-year-old linguistics professor at Columbia University and still find something to relate to in a Mariah Carey ballad if you’re in love because the feelings are so universal. It’s humbling, isn’t it? No matter who you are or what your background is, love can reduce you to Mariah Carey mush.
Love is an all-consuming drug. It gives us these natural highs we’ve only read about in books or heard in songs. It’s addictive. It’s what keeps us going to bars, drinking glasses of wine, going to that stupid house party in Bushwick; it’s all for the possibility of finding love. In the wrong hands, love can be dangerous and scary. If someone lacks a healthy foundation, love can kill. All of these crimes you read about in the newspapers are usually linked to passionate love. “I did it because I loved them just…too much.”
Love is not what our parents had. In high school, you never wanted to think about your mother and father having once slept with people in the backseat of cars and feeling warm and happy. That would make it feel less special and young. It would make love have less to do with you when, EXCUSE ME, it has EVERYTHING to do with you.
Love is getting drunk with your significant other at a party and taking a cab home with your bodies intertwined. You feel safest in these moments, the most secure. Entering a social gathering with someone who loves you is the biggest security blanket. People leave the party as a parade of droopy expressions and sad cocktail dresses. But not you. “Sorry guys, I’m in love! I’m taking a car!”
Love is fucking stupid. Love is fucking smart. Love is about betraying yourself, of compromising your ideals for someone else’s approval. That’s actually the bad kind of love, but I guess it all blurs together when you’re young or when you’re old or when you don’t love yourself.
Love is your significant other telling you about their favorite album and then making a point to fall in love with it on your own. Love is wondering why your better half loves certain things. You think you can find remnants of them in their favorite films, books and songs, but you usually can’t.
Love is finding yourself feeling protective over someone else’s well-being Love is being incensed with rage when someone or something has done your lover wrong.
Love is wanting your partner to cum. And if they can’t, just say, “That’s okay. I’m enjoying this.” It might be bullshit, but they’ll be orgasming in the next five minutes. Trust me.
Love isn’t always marriage. Marriage is spending $60,000 so everyone can know that someone loves you. You know what’s certainly not love? Debt. In some cases, love can be divorce.
Love is a back massage, a mindfuck, a hard cock, a pair of perfect breasts, of feeling unashamed about the cellulite on your body. Love is someone giving a shit about you enough to argue. Love is not passive. Love is “Don’t fucking touch me right now.” Love is “Who the FUCK were you talking to?” Love is sometimes hating yourself for a second. Love is hate. Period. Indifference is the real killer of love and the true antithesis.
When love leaves you, you should be lying on your bathroom floor with no resolve. You’re smoking cigarettes in the bathtub and crying about everything bad that’s ever happened.
Love is someone seeing the beauty in you and wanting to bask in it every day all day. Love is not guaranteed. We are not owed love. That’s why when we get it, we know how lucky we are and hold on to it for dear life.
So, yeah. That’s what love is. Anyone know where to get some?

And we wonder why our society is so screwed up with our sexuality and porn rules the cyber-waves.
Wow... Mind you, this was written by a woman. And the instructions are so perversely manipulative,
that I can only imagine where we would be as a society if love were given as the driving force of connection as
apposed to total malice of sexual control, condemnation and destruction.
Yes, this sounds like what God intended for us all... :)

INSTRUCTION AND ADVICE FOR THE YOUNG BRIDE
To the sensitive young woman who has had the benefits of proper
upbringing, the wedding day is, ironically, both the happiest and
most terrifying day of her life. On the positive side, there is the
wedding itself, in which the bride is the central attraction in a
beautiful and inspiring ceremony, symbolizing her triumph in securing
a male to provide for all her needs for the rest of her life. On the
negative side, there is the wedding night, during which the bride
must pay the piper, so to speak, by facing for the first time the
terrible experience of sex.
At this point, dear reader, let me concede one shocking truth. Some
young women actually anticipate the wedding night ordeal with
curiosity and pleasure! Beware such an attitude! A selfish and
sensual husband can easily take advantage of such a bride. One
cardinal rule of marriage should never be forgotten: GIVE LITTLE,
GIVE SELDOM, AND ABOVE ALL, GIVE GRUDGINGLY. Otherwise what could
have been a proper marriage could become an orgy of sexual lust.

A wise woman...
Thursday, May 05, 2011
Okay... Now I'm getting a little pissed off... Anyone for a revolution?
Who, in the republican party works ethically from a place of Courage, Hope, Compassion and Understanding.
For all you right wingers out there I have a question to you... Isn't this how Jesus would choose to address the world of humanity?
I understand, and even my children and their friends see it, with no prompting from me. Why does the GOP wish to live in a world wrapped in nothing but fear? Why do they insist on believing, that we as human beings, do not have an inherent responsibility to all humans...?
Mother Theresa stated, "There is no real success if there is still suffering in the world." Everything the GOP fights for is a fear based reaction to their own lack of freewill, and or, self worth.
For the party that claims, they want less government, I wish you would just tell the truth. What you want is less control over your own greed... and systematical control of individual choice of every person in, not only this country, but the world.
Why? simple minded fear. Fear of going to hell, fear of your own inner unwillingness to trust anyone's personal choice for themselves. Fear of actually admitting to yourselves that you are not superior to the rest of the world, because if you were, you would not need to pass laws restricting the personal choices of others.
So lets take a few of the issues you speak against...
Gays & Homosexuals... What are they really doing to you? I hear of the fear, they are recruiting our children... Hate to break it to you, your children will make their own decisions in their own time, no matter what you think. Or is your fear, a projection of your own lack of self worth, that you gave up in your life to others you believed had power over you. I have yet to meet a child of a gay couple who was more messed up or more dysfunctional as a GOP child. How many GOP kids are on Riddlin? And yes, I have had gay friends throughout my life. Sorry your claims are untruths based in fear.
The sanctity of marriage, is not threatened by gay people. For if it was... Everyone of you, in the GOP, who has ever been divorced has done more damage I believe (as a Minister), to the sanctity of marriage, than any gay couple I have ever known. For better for, worse, through sickness and health... How did letting go of these, true vows, not rip apart the depth of what a marriage commitment was meant to be. Oh, I know why, because 2008 the GOP, in a gallup poll, believed Divorce was Immoral by 64% ... but in 2010 only 52% of you believe this. Anyone want to explain to me how this became less Immoral?? And why you are more okay with this now, is it, that more of you are choosing it?
A Woman's right to choose... In your fear, you have gutted the gun stores, emptied the ammo depots and stockpiled, against what? If anyone talks about gun control, you scream, " No one has the right to take my gun away from me." And in the next breathe, you decide, that your beliefs allow you the right to take away a woman's choice to decide if it is time to bring another being into the world. To truly decide whether they have the true capacity to raise a child. I hear you screaming, for what you want them to do, because you think so. In the movie "Parenthood", Keanu Reves Character say;" They make you take a test to get a license... But they will let any asshole be a parent!" A woman's right to choose is not always about just having sex and getting rid of the evidence... Sometimes it is an extremely excruciating look into their own souls, to determine what is the best, for both mother and child...
And I have the solution. I hope your sitting down.
I have yet to hear, all those fighting a woman's right to choose, that they will make this proposition.
" We as those who believe we should decide what another human being should do with their own body, hereby declare that we will take into our homes, every unwanted child. In this way we can abolish abortion because we will take care of all the reasons for having one."
Who in the GOP is ready to sign up for this one? Anyone? I thought not.
The only depth you will go to solve a problem like this is to take the freedom away, from another, so you can feel better about yourself. And once again we go back to the first truth... that this would infringe, once again, on your personal greed. Oh yeah, and the occasional killing of people to support your cause... hmmm, anyone else see something askew here?
This post, in no way, is to crack on religious beliefs... This post is a crack on the desire to control the rest of the world through fear. (Sorry, a lot of it is motivated by those who use the bible against their fellow man), which goes against the teachings of Jesus... I am sorry to say.
It is a crack upon narrow minded views, in a time when the most powerful nation could be leading the way to Peace on Earth and the success of the human race.
Sorry, GOP War Mongers, we tried your way for thousands of years and it really hasn't created a successful human race. So how about we quit thinking, we can bomb and bully the world, to letting us screw them for our own selfish wants as they starve and sleep in tents...
We should really be ashamed of ourselves, for not using our ability, to create a better world for all... I for one will always fight for truth and for the forwarding of Love, Life, Compassion, Courage and Hope.
But then again I wouldn't have fantasy football, dancing with the stars and Tivo time, if I actually work to better the world.
Blessings to you and all you hold dear in your hearts... and in your shadows...

An atheist in the woods...
An atheist in the woods
An atheist was walking through the woods. "What majestic trees"!
"What powerful rivers"! "What beautiful animals"! He said to himself.
As he was walking alongside the river, he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him.
He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly bear charge towards him.
He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder & saw that the bear was closing in on him.
He looked over his shoulder again, & the bear was even closer. He tripped & fell on the ground.
He rolled over to pick himself up but saw that the bear was right on top of him, reaching for him
with his left paw & raising his right paw to strike him.
At that instant the Atheist cried out, "Oh my God!"
Time Stopped. The bear froze. The forest was silent.
As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky. "You deny my existence for all these years,
teach others I don't exist and even credit creation to cosmic accident." "Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament?
Am I to count you as a believer"? The atheist looked directly into the light, "It would be hypocritical of me to suddenly ask you
to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps you could make the BEAR a Christian"?
"Very Well," said the voice.
The light went out. The sounds of the forest resumed.
And the bear dropped his right paw, brought both paws together, bowed his head and spoke:
"Lord bless this food, which I am about to receive from thy
bounty through Christ our Lord, Amen."

Are you an ant or a grasshopper...
The keys to the way this world works are right here before us. They have always been here and always will be. Since this is a planet of free will we have the responsibility to open our eyes and our minds to a new way of perceiving this world.
To tell the truth, to express the truth of who we are, takes a shift in awareness and perception.
To just tell the truth is not a viable option when the level of consciousness that I hold is not in alignment with the vibration of the truth. In other words we must elevate ourselves to a level of existence where the expression of the truth is lived not only in thought or word but also in action. That does not mean that I need to act upon the truth, that inside me is a liar, a cheat, a manipulator a killer, and so on. But the truth is to own that I have the capacity no matter how much I want to hide it from you that all of these exist inside of me.
For each of us that have felt the insurgence of movement through this time by way of the events in the world and the dramatic unfolding of the waking world we are now standing upon the precipice of the next shift in our world consciousness we will walk into the next dimension of existence as, free will human angel beings.
Let us begin this journey together. Since for all of time we have been doing this together.

Change... the only constant in life... love it, and it flows... resist it, it will kick your ass.
Change has always been a necessary aspect of life and work, and our world is changing more rapidly than ever. It is likely that you will have to cope with a variety of changes in the near future. Your success and fulfillment - your emotional, mental, spiritual and physical well-being - depend on how well you adapt to change.
In Stage 1 you admit to yourself that regardless of whether or not you perceive the change to be good or ‘bad” there will be a sense of loss of what “was.”
Stage 2 – Doubt to Reality
In this stage, you doubt the facts, doubt your doubts and struggle to find information about the change that you believe is valid. Resentment, skepticism and blame cloud your thinking.
Stage 3 – Discomfort to Motivation
You will recognize Stage 3 by the discomfort it brings. The change and all it means has now become clear and starts to settle in. Frustration and lethargy rule until possibility takes over.
The Danger Zone
The Danger Zone represents the pivotal place where you make the choice either to move on to Stage 4 and discover the possibilities the change has presented or to choose fear and return to Stage 1.
Stage 4 – Discovery to Perspective
Stage 4 represents the “light at the end of the tunnel.” Perspective, anticipation, and a willingness to make decisions give a new sense of control and hope. You are optimistic about a good outcome because you have choices.
In Stage 5, you understand the change and are more confident, think pragmatically, and your behavior is much more productive. Good thing.
By this time, you have regained your ability and willingness to be flexible. You have insight into the ramifications, consequences and rewards of the change — past, present, and future.

To all the young women out there... and those not so young...
I came across this stumbling one day. I thought it was to the point and quite profound... Enjoy.
From an Old Woman to a Young Woman
1. You are not a victim. No matter what happens to you, don't take the pussy route and blame the world for your misfortune. If you were sexually assaulted, verbally abused, etc and lived to tell about it; take your pain and help those who need it. Writing emo poetry isn't going to solve anything.
2. Invest in your education first, your looks second. Anyone can pay a plastic surgeon to look hot, but not everyone can read a book and do simple math.
3. No matter what you call it, having a 'man to take you shopping' is glorified prostitution. He wants you for your body, you want him for his wallet. Cut the crap and call it what it is.
4. Do not seek confidence in other people. Magazines, celebrities and most pop influences are there to make you feel like you're nothing. Don't buy into it. Those celebrities need your money to look fabulous. Invest in yourself, not hype.
5. Stop fueling gossip mongers [Perez Hilton, TMZ.]. They have nothing to talk about and if you follow them for long, neither will you.
6. Be modest; why have all your goods unwrapped and leave nothing for the imagination?
7. Know the difference between fucking and love. There is a major difference and if you don't know it, pick up a book or ask someone who does.
8. Do not have children just because you're lonely or insecure. Your child will end up hating you for it and you won't get the emotional blanket you hoped you'd get.
9. Get a job. Seriously. Just because you're a woman doesn't mean that you are excused from work. Find a trade, get a job. If you are a house wife, be a good one. If you are a career woman, put your heart into what you do.
10. A respectable companion is rarely at a 'bar' or da club'. These places are meat markets and will only set you up for a douche-bag or a wimp. If you go, refer to rule 7.
11. Learn to cook. Cooking is a dying skill that needs not be. You'd be surprise how much weight you lose and how you can get a decent companion if you know more than picking up a phone and calling for dinner.
12. Get off your phone. If it's not your best friend, your job or your family, your cackling is not important and the rest of the world does not want to hear it. Listen more. Talk less.
13. Stop putting so much of your money into things [purses, shoes, make up] and start putting it into a savings account, a 401k or an IRA. Those shoes are not going to vest when you turn 65.
14. Stop using men to get you stuff. Have some self respect and buy your own drinks, meals and entertainment. A date will respect you more if you show them you are not helpless.
15. Perfume and baby powder does not make up for good hygiene. Shower, do your laundry, clean your place. Body odor is not excusable for either genders.
16. If you are a Lesbian, respect yourself and stop trying to find acceptance in the world. 9/10 they will not accept you. Tell them 'fuck you' and be your own woman.
17. If you are a Lesbian, you are not anymore special or important than anyone else. You love other women and you have that right, but do not flex your preference thinking it makes you unique. Your mind and experiences make you unique, either gay or straight.
18. Buy clothes that fit. Be tasteful with your clothing be you big or small.
19. Don't eat for comfort, vomit to make yourself beautiful, and starve yourself to feel loved. Exercise, be sensible with your food choices, don't deprive yourself but never eat too much. The quickest way to a size 30, and to the grave, is past your teeth.
20. If they say the love you, ask them to earn your heart through good deeds, genuine kindness and respect.
21. Romance is not dead; but if you're not willing to give it, don't expect it in return.
22. Stop being a bitch to other women and other people. If you are not happy, go get therapy. No one deserves to be berated because you don't have the guts to berate yourself.
23. Do something new every day. Pole dance to learn about your sensuality, paint to express your creativity, write a blog to express your soul. Evolve and never stop learning.
24. Look in the mirror everyday and smile at what you see.
25. Stay safe. Learn to defend yourself against one or multiple attackers. Jackals do not attack if they see a big stick. If all else fails, run. There is no shame in running if it keeps you safe.
26. Love yourself. Always. When you love yourself to the fullest, the world will open with opportunities

Canada, May be a loft apartment over a really good party, but they reject bullshit when they see it...
As America's middle class battles for its survival on the Wisconsin barricades -- against various Koch Oil surrogates and the corporate toadies at Fox News -- fans of enlightenment, democracy and justice can take comfort from a significant victory north of Wisconsin border. Fox News will not be moving into Canada after all! The reason: Canada regulators today announced they would reject efforts by Canada's right wing Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, to repeal a law that forbids lying on broadcast news.
Canada' Radio Act requires that "a licenser may not broadcast....any false or misleading news." The provision has kept Fox News and right wing talk radio out of Canada and helped make Canada a model for liberal democracy and freedom. As a result of that law, Canadians enjoy high quality news coverage including the kind of foreign affairs and investigative journalism that flourished in this country before Ronald Reagan abolished the "Fairness Doctrine" in 1988. Political dialogue in Canada is marked by civility, modesty, honesty, collegiality, and idealism that have pretty much disappeared on the U.S. airwaves. When Stephen Harper moved to abolish anti-lying provision of the Radio Act, Canadians rose up to oppose him fearing that their tradition of honest non partisan news would be replaced by the toxic, overtly partisan, biased and dishonest news coverage familiar to American citizens who listen to Fox News and talk radio. Harper's proposal was timed to facilitate the launch of a new right wing network, "Sun TV News" which Canadians call "Fox News North."
Harper, often referred to as "George W. Bush's Mini Me," is known for having mounted a Bush like war on government scientists, data collectors, transparency, and enlightenment in general. He is a wizard of all the familiar tools of demagoguery; false patriotism, bigotry, fear, selfishness and belligerent religiosity.
Harper's attempts to make lying legal on Canadian television is a stark admission that right wing political ideology can only dominate national debate through dishonest propaganda.
Public Comments were solicited on the proposal and included:
"I strongly oppose the amendment on the grounds that this will allow for a culture of misleading news in Canada, similar to the one that exists in the USA," one person writes. "This amendment will make our news broadcasting a farce, since newsmakers will more easily be able to broadcast with the intent of misleading the public for political or other gains." Another comment suggests the level of broadcast news has "fallen far enough already without allowing broadcasters to knowingly transmit falsehoods."
"If we wish to watch fiction, there are already plenty of dramas and comedies available," it adds. "We don't need to get it from our news as well."
As an American, I applaud their action to protect honest news and find it notable that foreign sources are becoming the go-to to find factual reporting, leaving our MSM in the dust. I agree that they have become merely the 'sock puppets of billionaires and corporate robber barons and the masters of propaganda and distortion' on the public airwaves.

the downfall of our future... From the past.
"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense, a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.
This world in arms is not spending money alone. It is spending the sweat of its laborers, the genius of its scientists, the hopes of
its children.
This is not a way of life at all in any true sense. Under the
clouds of war, it is humanity hanging on a cross of iron."
-- Dwight D. Eisenhower

As I've matured...
As I've Matured...
I've learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is stalk them and hope they panic and give in.
I've learned that one good turn gets most of the blankets.
I've learned that no matter how much I care, some people are just jackasses.
I've learned that it takes years to build up trust, and it only takes suspicion, not proof, to destroy it.
I've learned that whatever hits the fan will not be evenly distributed.
I've learned that you shouldn't compare yourself to others - they are more screwed up than you think.
I've learned that depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
I've learned that it is not what you wear; it is how you take it off.
I've learned that you can keep vomiting long after you think you're finished.
I've learned to not sweat the petty things, and not pet the sweaty things.
I've learned that ex's are like fungus, and keep coming back.
I've learned age is a very high price to pay for maturity.
I've learned that I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy it.
I've learned that we are responsible for what we do, unless we are celebrities.
I've learned that artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.
I've learned that 99% of the time when something isn't working in your house, one of your kids did it.
I've learned that there is a fine line between genius and insanity.
I've learned that the people you care most about in life are taken from you too soon and all the less important ones just never go away. And the real pains in the ass are permanent.

How to create what you see in yourself...
The Law of Attraction states that your intentions become your reality, therefore the more you think about something, the more chances you have to bring it to reality.
Now, you can ignore how the law of attraction works at the lowest level, and still get all the benefits from it. You don’t even have to give it a name, as you can summarize it as a single concept: you become what you think you can.
This is the most interesting part for you. I recommend you to read the following paragraphs with an open mind and with a strong desire to learn if you want to get the most out of it.
As I’ve already said before, you become what you think you can, but what I forgot to say, is that this is always true. Let me explain what I mean. If you think that you would like to get a new car, but you also think that you can’t afford it, you are in reality reinforcing the idea that you can’t have a new car. The universe doesn’t mind wherever what you really want is a new car, as it will follow your intentions literally.
This is the reason why you don’t always have what you want, as in those cases you are probably reinforcing the exact opposite of what you really want. Let’s see another example, debts. If you constantly think about your debts, and how hard it is to pay them off, then you are in reality attracting them even more, and you’ll always end up having more of them.
It may seem absurd at first to believe in the Law of Attraction, so before I’ll tell you how to exactly take advantage of it, let me show you how it works.
When you think about something, your brain stores specific information in its internal memory. If you are thinking about getting a new car, your brain is storing that information for you, and it will automatically think of how to get one (using your so called unlimited potential), and chances are that you’ll get one soon. But if you think about not being able to afford it, your brain will do its best to make it even harder for you to get that new car.
Now, finally, let’s see how you can use the Law of Attraction to get what you want.
The first thing you have to learn is how to ask something to the universe (or to your brain, if that makes more sense to you). This step consists of three main actions: ask, believe, and receive.
- Ask. This is where you ask for what you want. It’s extremely important to be specific about what you want, and to use positive and meaningful words.
- Believe. This is where you act as you already have what you want.
- Receive. This is where you receive what you want from the universe.
The believe part is where you live your life accordingly to your wish. Act as if you already have what you want, and really believe it. You can also use visualization to reinforce your thoughts. Your brain does not distinguish between a real experience and one that’s happening only in your heads, so if you want a new car, close your eyes and imagine driving your new car. If you want to have $100,00 dollars in your bank, write a check with your name and the amount of money and put it where you can see it every day.
The receive part is where you get what you want. You don’t yet know how you’ll get it, so you have to pay attention to your intuition, and be ready to act whenever you have a good feeling. The universe is extremely fast, so act right away when you receive a sign or message. At the end you most likely have to take action if you really want to get something real.
As I said earlier, there’s a second step to take if you want to get the most out of the Law of Attraction, and that is to live accordingly to these two rules: be happy, and be grateful. Fortunately, this is the easier step, and also the one where you can see immediate results.
Being happy means that it’s up to you to interpret external factors in a positive and constructive way. For example it’s not written anywhere that you have to be hungry every time you are in the middle of the traffic. It’s only you that creates your emotion, so it’s your responsibility to always create positive ones. In short, be always happy and positive.
Being grateful means to not take everything you have for granted. Make a habit to dedicate a few minutes every day where you think of all the things you are grateful for. If you do this, you will automatically attract more of what you already like, and at the same time you’ll increase your happiness.
What I described until now is how to use the Law of Attraction in your life. In the next section I’ll attempt to explain how everything works in a lower level. If you are not interested in it, you can jump directly to the conclusion of the article.
How everything works
I’ll now attempt to explain how the Law of Attraction works. Keep in mind two things, the first is that it doesn’t matter how it works at the lower levels, as you already know how to use it. The second thing is that I’m just saying my opinion and nobody knows yet how the Law of Attraction really works, so you are welcome to provide your contribution in the comments. On a higher level, our brain stores our thoughts in memory and like a search engine it tries to get them back when we need them. This process happens asynchrony, which means that if you want to remember the title of a song, you don’t necessarily have to focus on it until you get the answer, because your brain can do that for you while you sleep, or do something else.
Another interesting fact is that our brain can’t distinguish a real experience from one that is happening only in your imagination. Psychologists know this, and in fact are helping many Olympic athletes to improve their performance only with the power of their mind (for example by making them run their perfect run in their mind).
When you express a wish, you are in reality asking to your brain how to bring it to reality. Its responsibility is to find a way to make it happen. It doesn’t matter how, and in most cases it will just use past experiences to jump to a conclusion, but it could also use your unlimited power to find an answer. As we said, this process happens asynchrony, so you need to ask it just once, and then reinforce the thought with visualization and by being confident.
On a lower level, philosophers are linking the Law of Attraction with quantum physic. Quantum physic is not an easy topic and I wont discuss much about it here. Suffice to say that at the lower level we are all made of the same thing, which is pure energy, and all this energy is linked together, thus we can potentially control outside events with our thoughts.
This lower level is difficult and counter intuitive to understand, so you don’t have to make sense of it if you don’t want to. Think of it like the binary language of computers, you don’t have to think in terms of zeros and ones to use your computer, yet that’s what is happening at the lower level when you use it.
